  1. Turn the radio to Channel __.

  2. When you want to talk to someone, say:

    “This is (call sign). (name) calling their name.”

  3. While you talk, say “(call sign)” again every 15 minutes.

  4. When you are listening and waiting, say:

    “This is (call sign). (name), and I’ll be on the side.”

    This means: I am still here and listening, but not talking right now.

  5. When you are all done, say:

    “This is (call sign). (name), and I’ll be clear.”

    This means: I am finished talking now.
